Whisply documentation

Set Whisply up and get the most out of every feature. Mac only.

1

Download

Get Whisply for Mac and open the .dmg to install it.

2

Grant permissions

Allow Screen Recording, Microphone, and Accessibility in System Settings.

3

Open Whisply and sign in with your Whisply account.

4

Press ⌘ + ↵

Summon the overlay from any app and ask anything.

The overlay & hotkey

Whisply lives in a translucent overlay that floats on top of everything you do. Summon it any time with ⌘ + ↵ (Command + Return). Type a question — or just ask out loud — and the answer appears instantly, visible only to you. Press the hotkey again to dismiss it.

The overlay never steals focus from the app you’re in, so you can keep working, presenting, or interviewing while you read.

Real-time chat

Ask anything in plain language and Whisply answers in the moment, using your screen and the surrounding conversation as live context. It remembers the thread, so follow-ups just work — great for interviews, meetings, coding, writing, and research.

Screen awareness

Whisply can see whatever is on your screen — an email, an error, a slide, a spreadsheet — so you never copy, paste, or screenshot. Point it at the screen and ask. It understands images, code, tables, and on-screen UI. This needs the Screen Recording permission.

Listening to meetings

On calls and meetings, Whisply listens to the conversation in real time. It feeds you live answers as questions come up, writes your notes automatically, and lets you share the full transcript and summary afterward. Works on Zoom, Meet, and Teams — and in person.

Live listening needs the Microphone permission (and System Audio for capturing the other side of a call).

Sharing & transcripts

Any conversation — its transcript, summary, and notes — can be shared with a public link. Whisply mints a unique token for the conversation and serves it at /share/<token>, so anyone with the link can open it, no Whisply account required.

Because the link is public-by-token, treat it like a password: only people you send it to can guess the URL. You stay in control — manage and revoke any share link at any time from your account. Revoking a link takes effect immediately and the old token stops working.

Computer Use

Available on Pro Undetected. Whisply can take the controls of your Mac — clicking, scrolling, typing, dragging, opening apps, and chaining steps into real multi-step tasks. Unlike chat-only agents, it acts on your actual machine, in your real apps. Requires the Accessibility permission.

Undetectability & exams

Whisply is invisible on screen share, recordings, and to meeting bots — only you ever see it. Read more on the undetectability page.

Pro Undetected can also be “armed” for proctored exams — it supports most lockdown and proctoring systems out of the box (LockDown Browser, Safe Exam Browser, Examplify, OnVUE, and more). Two proctors (TestNav and ACT) need a one-time $500 whitelist set up with our team — see pricing.

Pro Undetected users complete a one-time Recovery-mode setup to relax SIP and AMFI so the undetectability layer can load. The /armonboarding walkthrough takes you through it step by step — you only do this once per Mac.

Account & billing

Manage your subscription, devices, and billing from your account. Compare plans on pricing. You can cancel any time from your account or the Stripe billing portal and keep access until the end of your billing period — see the cancellation policy.

Updates

Whisply keeps itself current with a built-in updater. New versions download and install in the background, so you’re always on the latest without reinstalling anything — just relaunch when prompted.

Curious what changed? See the full version history on the changelog.

Privacy

Whisply runs on your Mac and is built to keep your conversations yours. See our privacy policy and the list of subprocessors for details on what we collect and who processes it.
